Update: Yesterday the tuner drove my truck and it did great. However I drive differently and as I drove it around today I noticed a part throttle issue with an aggressive throttle about 40-60%. Got Sam on the phone and he said bring it on over. He was doing a C7 with procharger and headers @ 8 lbs. 585 on the first pull. We drove around for about an hr and holy crap this thing rocks! It really feels as fast at 6000 lbs as it did unloaded before. I am SO PLEASED with his work! I am in love again

 

That's good to hear, What gear do you have? I'm hearing mine howl a little and it's a 9.76 with 3.73's so I'm going to swap my lowly ole 9.5 w/snails pace 3.08's until I can go through the 6.2 rear end. Glad you got it how you want it....for now! LOL

3.42s here. In theory 3.08s should be perfectly fine compared to a 4l60 with 4.10-4.56s. Times haven't really backed that up though I don't think. How's your baby running with the TVS?

 

Just getting tune sorted out it got dark so I parked it. Should be squared away this weekend. 3.73's are perfect in these little trucks though. Only turns 2000rpm @80 with 32" tire

Bet you're gonna love it! I do like the blower over the turbo hands down even though the top end rush was fun. Just not nearly as usable on the street imo. I am gonna do a turbo something in the future though but this one is staying blown!

 

Sorry missed this. There was a mpt plug in the Whipple manifold he put a nipple in it and hooked up there.

 

My spreadsheet says a 5.3 with stock crank pulley with a 2.9 whipple on a 3.875" pulley should make 9-10psi. A ~4.25in will make about 7 or so.

 

I an still confused on making less boost the more pulls you did. I understand less power due to IATs and pulling timing but i dont understand less boost. I can do pull after pulll the boost is the same.

 

Belt slip or higher inlet air temps going into the blower would do it.

 

I think rjw made 11.5 with a 4" but he had a 6.2 throttle body. I'm kinda clueless as to why it made 9.7 with a 4 3/8" myself. I didn't time the runs but I estimate 15-20 min between each. Is the exhaust that damn restrictive on these trucks? Gonna try to get shocks on today or tomorrow hopefully.
