Default best stall for 5.3 turbo?

I have a single cab short bed 98 model pickup with a lil ole stock 5.3 and with an isky cam, nonnieselman old rear mount kit with the old magnum 76mm from lglowe I'm currently running FLT 80 with circle d 3k stall with a 2 step set at 2800. It makes right at 5.5# then ramping to 15.5# about 30 to 40 feet out the gate. Best 60ft so far is only a 1.75 and 11.52@118 thru a 1/4. If I raise the 2 step to 3k I can make around 6 to 7# of boost but its like it lugs when I leave what stall would work best maybe a 3600 or 3800 I don't want to go to loose because I do drive it occasionally. Thanks for the help

It sounds like your converter likes being flashed more than just more rpms/more boost. Why not try still leaving at 2800, but ramping in boost faster?

How about a small shot on a switch just to flash it outta the hole? Love the setup!

Is this footbrake or transbrake? Also is boost just set to 15.5#, and it takes 30-40 feet for it to get there? Or your using a boost controller and ramping it in?

So it takes that long for the turbo to spool? Is all the piping wrapped? Im running a Circle D 3000-3200 stall and Its working good for me, my best 60' was 1.60 but the stall or boost isnt my problem its traction.

Yeah I guess so? ha none of my piping is wrapped so that could definitely be a problem I'm going to the track tonight so ill see if I can get someone with a video camera to video me and see what it's actually doing. It just feels like it kinda leaves and soon as boost hits that thing shoots out of there in a hurry
