Wow great work! This came together pretty quick. I need to get off my *** and put my truck back together. It's been apart since May.

It was quite a bit of work for one guy. I did from the smallblock onward with a torn finger tendon in my good hand so that didn't help. A job like this takes time, persistance and patience (and some luck) to do properly. I can't think of anything I'd do differently at this point. I'm pretty pleased with the outcome.

I'm going to shoot some video tonight or tomorrow so stay tuned. I want to get some miles on it before do anything silly, though.

How many posts per page have you set up? 10 or 40?

I wonder how bad gasmileage compare from 370 and 383?

The gas mileage is bad but when you're having this much fun it doesn't matter. I have 230 miles on it now and I have a good feel for the truck. I'm convinced that the 4L80E is one of God's gifts to man. I love this transmission. It is sooo solid. If I could figure out the lockup thing I'd be in heaven. If you haven't done the swap, then your truck isn't complete yet.

The 383/1900/IW pulley system is simply awesome. This combo pulls forever, and hard. I don't think I'd change a thing at this point. I'm getting a whiff of oil now and then after I stop but I can't find a leak. I'm thinking I need a catch can or breather to alleviate some crankcase pressure.

Sorry I haven't made any videos, I've just been driving it a lot when I can. It's getting broken in hard and fast.

That's sounding pretty good! Maybe someday I can afford the 80E swap. And the IW pulley system, bigger blower, more cubes, lighter truck.........AHAHHHHHHH!!!!! It never ends.

I always tell people to break it in just like they're gonna drive it. Waiting for vids!

The nicest thing about the 80e is how FAST it shifts. Also, I like the gear ratio. With the stall, the quick 1-2 shift is really nice. I have so much more peace of mind that this tranny is not going to let me down.

I'm going to head out and try the manual lockup through HPT. If that works, I'm going to swap some tables over from a built 80e that I found online. This tweaking is time consuming, but necessary.
