Just finished one side of my headers this weekend and I can attest to it being hard. Welding tig on a flat surface is easy for me, but welding it on a curved surface like a pipe is quite a bit harder. One of the hardest things for me is keeping up the weld speed due to the curve. Being legally blind in your eye on the same side you hold the tig touch like I am does not help either

I was surprised at how much argon I used from the cylinder that was back gassing the pipes. Used about 15 CF on that tank, while the tank on the welder only used 5 CF, I can not regulate the back gas tank as well for some reason, my be because there is no real back pressure on it.

You might want to put some duct tape over the intake runners, looks like you just have the ole red shop rags on there and those damn things lint like crazy

wierd, ive never seen any lint from the shop towels besides, if they do lint a little, it would be burnt and spit within the first 2 seconds
