If you wipe down your motor on the stand with carb cleaner you will see all the lint those red towels leave behind.

After I removed all these there was lint everywhere.

TX you can never be too careful after my experiences IMO

You've made a lot of progress and it looks great! Are you still going to try the sequential idea that you had? Keep the pics coming.

for any welding, I would HIGHLY recommend an auto tint(autodark) helmet, that way when your tigging you can stop, rotate the tube and start without ever touching your helment, there 1-200 dollars depending on the brand/settings.....well worth the cash, please buy the helmet before you resort to mig, its just so shitty looking and not percise.

as far as the log headers go, there dirt easy to build and fitment is cake, but from a fluid dynamics aspect, they are crap for flow....they will prob get the job done fine, I'm just an **** engineer.

OH ya and for tigging tubing, you should purge the tubes with argon, aka cap the ends with tape and run a second argon hose in them, at a low pressure to keep the welds from burning thru and leaving a bumpy inner tube surface...PM me if you have any more questions on this.

Everythings lookin good so far
An AutoTint shield is deffinately worth the $$$$, it makes Tig welding a much easier process. I would take duwens advise and purge your tubing as well, not only is it cleaner (on the inside of the tubing) but it also makes for a stronger weld.

Good Luck

On the topic of the auto-darkening helment, I have a Harbor Freight special (Western Industrial I think) that I have been using for several years and it works great. $49 if i'm not mistken. It is one of the cheap products that is actually good.

i have an auto shield.

not too worried about a little lint in the intake ports. i wouldn't want any in the oil though.

i am not going to mess with the sequential spooling idea. for now i am just bumping up the stall to about 3500. i dont know if it will spool faster or slower than the 88 i had before.

i am doing this set up the absolute easiest way i can. count this one as a learning experience. if i get this running i might eventualy step it up to shorty style headers and larger down pipes. i really think this set up will go well over 1000rwhp.

my plans for right now are simple headers, 3"dp's thru bullets with no cut outs, open wg, decent intercooler, stock intake, meth and then go on drag week.

not long after i hope to step up to that single plane intake set up and larger throttle body. then give it a good push.

I thought I saw a hole saw in a drill press in one of his pictures.
