Default any of you guys towing with a turbo?

I'm curious what kind of EGT's are generated if you are towing(light loads, like I have a 16ft trailer that hauls four wheelers). In my mind it seems like a bad idea, i've built turbo f bodies but no trucks. I have a duramax I pull my race car with but its extended cab, and sucks to pile everyone in plus riding gear when we go riding. I usually use my 2wd tahoe, way more comfy, but of course she spends a lot of time in third gear. I tuned it a while back, and bought some headers and cold air, which I doubt do much but we'll see.

I'm looking into boost.

I can try finding a maggie, since I dont care about making it fast, single turbo it, or put a d1 or p1 headunit on it and fmic. Turbo would be cheap and easy, I know how to do that, I can cut out a procharger bracket pretty easily too at my buddies c&c shop too.

Check out Stock4.8, he has one of the fastest trucks on here. Turbo'd daily driver that pulls trailers. I know there are others, but if they don't chime in, just shoot him a message.

I am not sure about egts but i tow with my turbo 6.0 every weekend during the summer. I pull a boat that has a double axle trailer and probably weighs 4k lbs. The truck pulls way better than it ever did NA. I just watch my intake temps and all has been good. I just try not to make much boost in overdrive since I am still on a 4l65.

I tow with my p1sc'd silverado... you don't really need too much boost. It definately helps having it, but like mentioned earlier... 3-4# up a hill, around traffic, whatever, you are good.

I towed a 6k boat with my old turbo 408 truck, no issues. Oh, and no issues towing with my new turbo truck either

I towed my vette from st joe MO to Maxton N.C. A few years ago in my lifted K2500hd with front mount. It made towing through the mountains so much more enjoyable, you just have to keep an eye on iats and pedal position

If your looking for a type of FI that would be best for towing then i would deff go with a supercharger.. It will give you the most low end torque of all the types of FI.. Especially on your tahoe, it would be the best way to go imo... Slap on the the supercharger, put your headers on with a decent exhaust and your done.. A great towing machine.. If you go turbo, your going to have to do alot of nit picky stuff and it will be more complicated and costly than a supercharger.. All this info is based off if you put a good ol tvs1900 on it.

^ I respectfully disagree. I've had both on the same truck. The tvs1900 did tow pretty well, but boost is linear to throttle position, and to get into boost, you have to give it throttle to the point it downshifts anyway. My turbo setup on the same truck, same engine towed like a dream. Boost is relevant to load, and I can get enough boost to pull a 4 place snowmobile trailer loaded through the mountains without unlocking the converter in overdrive. That's why diesels use turbos nowadays instead of blowers. BUT, either choice, it's leaps ahead of an n/a engine.
