Default Aftercooler times vs non cooler times.

I posted up a few months ago and asked if anyone thought if my Vortech a/w aftercooler was a restriction. Being a Dodge, I didn't get much of a response. lol So I thought, what the heck. I pulled it off and took it to the track. My last years best time was a 12.65 @ 105.22. DA was 2200' in 84* weather. After pulling the aftercooler off, I gained about a lb of boost and ran the truck this year in 96* weather in 2800' air. Both year's I also used a Snow Performance w/m kit. My best run this year was a 12.30 @ 107.86. The truck weighs 134 lbs less this year compaired to last year. I picked up 2.64 mph and dropped .355 in et. As far as IAT's? They were a bit on the warm (hot) side. I'm going to be putting on some sort of cooler this winter. I just haven't decided whether I'm going with an a/a or a w/a.

Interesting results but I DK if there's enough data to draw a conclusion. Perhaps if you repeatedly ran .35 seconds faster. Did you turn up the meth/water mix?

I have three 12.40-42 @ 107 runs to back that up. The 12.40 runs were the following day in real thick air. I have my water meth set to come on at 6psi and ramp it up from there.

If you look at my sig, you'll see the time and mph difference's in an 1/8 mi run in decent air compaired to a 1/4 mi run in bad air. Cold air should be here in MN in the next few weeks. Last year with the aftercooler, my best 1/8 was an 8 flat @ 85mph.

How many miles on the truck? Maybe it's fully broken-in now?

They say for every 80-100 pounds is about a tenth off the quarter and you gained a psi so for a more comparable situation, the weight and psi needs to be the same IMO. Either way...nice times!!
