Default 02 Denali wanna go fast

I am currently deployed to Iraq, about to come home in a month and have saved up some money while I was here. I would like to ask an unbiased opinion on what I can do to my truck to make it fast. $6 - $10 grand for mods.

I have been searching this site but havent found an all inclusive list of things to do.

I know alot of you have mixed feelings and probably think, "go find it yourself you noobie" I would, but honestly I dont really have the time to do it.

Please help me out, I want to be in the mid to high 12's if thats possible for an almost 3 ton vehicle. Well I know its possible, but on a soldiers budget I should say. lol.

02 Denali 6.0L w/45,000 miles
Turbo or supercharger?
Exhaust recommendations?
Midwest shop anybody has been too?
Transmission and torque converter ideas?

Well I hope to get some responses but if not I understand, you guys have done your own research and trial and error so its cool. I guess I should be no different, but i was just looking to get it done when i got back from here and am quite anxious to say the least.

But I just want to say thanks in advance I appreciate your time.

Pretty easy but the cost will be close unless you do all the work yourself.
Here you go for 12's:
Radix sc, LT pacesetters, Tune (may be cam TR220)
A Must= FLT level 5 with TT2600-3000

The weight I think stock is 5800lbs or around there. But I have some suspension mods, bigger wheels but nothing on the inside so I am guessing right at 6000lbs.

Sorry if I sound ignorant, but I am not used to the "jargon" lol. I am not totally retarded, but some of the things arent registering.

I appreciate the replies so far. Thanks guys.

here is a thread with all the basic boltons, you will need those plus a power adder and internal work done.

https://www.performancetrucks.net/fo...hlight=boltons

i would suggest either a radix or a turbo and some ported heads from WCCH and a custom ground cam. that should get you where you want to be.

there are lots of guys on here more knowledgebale than me that are willing to help, just what gets us is someone who wants to run 10s in a extended cab truck for $8k, it wont happen.

radix sc = magnacharger radix supercharger kit, the most complete forced induction kit period.
pacesetters= budget long tube headers, great power for the money mod
tune = reprogramming the stock computer so it knows how to react to your mods
TR220 = a thunder racing cam with a 220/220 duration, not very good for boost by the way

FLT= finish line trans. you will need a built trans for this
TT2600-3000= a higher stalled torque converter
gt2-3 cam = a blower specific cam 207/220 duration. proven hundreds of times to work great

Hey nightrunner I really appreciate the help. I have been looking at those sites you posted. And I am getting back into it.

You said that the radix is the most complete F/I system out there, I have read alot about the STS turbo any comments on that?

I was also on the Lingenfelter website, they offer a package as I am sure you all know, but is it worth it? I mean the one package is like 8995 and the other is over 15 grand. What is the predicted results, I mean i know they post specs on their page but sometimes the seller can be a bit optimistic and biased. Anyone out there have this package on there truck?

Anyone have any comments on which supercharger or turbo is the best out there and which one will deliver the most power?

Still looking for a tune shop in the midwest. Anyone??

So you do have a SUV,the bad news is you are way heavy compared to a pickup, the good news is you have a 5 link rear suspension so it hooks better. My Tahoe with a 5.3 radix ASM long tubes Yank 3000 and CAI tuned low 14s.Adding 1.8 rockers electric fans,Auburn LSD[broke the g80]and 3.25"pulley netted a 13.2 @101mph.At that point I was killing 4L60 trannies on a regular basis,so I went to a 4L80 Transmission.Although had I not further modded the truck I feel strongly that a FLT level 5 would have held up.Next I added a Keith Kraft built 403 with a FAST 90mm throttle body,57lb injectors,Comp 228/232 XER cam,Yank 3000sc converter and TEA heads that with a 2.75"pulley netted 600+ rwhp[best of 639 at 6600rpm] which promptly killed the stock with a shift kit 4L80 transmission,4.56 gear and Auburn differential. Then I added a FLT level 4 trans,3000 3disc Vigilante,Eaton posi,3.73 gears,UMI racing throttle body and a GT2-3 cam, resulting in a livable daily driver running low 12s at 111+mph.[about 560rwhp at 6000rpm]I hope this info helps you out,12s in a SUV are not cheap.

The sierra Denali is heavier then the Yukon Denali, buddy has a Yukon Denail and it tips the scales at almost 6k mine is 6400.... Most of the SD's extra wieght is in the Q steer rear end.
