Another $1,500 for the miscellaneous parts.

Unless it's done by the owner, there's $ for labor to install.
Of course, you could build your own harness, find some radiator to install, shorten a stock driveshaft, use F-body lS1 Fans, modified 98 F-body exhaust manifolds, etc for a lot less.

The costs for these installs will vary greatly.

A takeout LQ9 with a Magnuson will be in the $7-8000 range.

Throw in a $2,500 transmission to handle the 480 HP and torque made by the motor/blower combo.
I second that! I can't imagine you spending more than $7,000-$8,000 for a 400HP DD. taking in of course that you'll recoup a grand or so from the sell of your old parts and do a little of the work yourself.

I love how this forum will not allow you to mod-up your 4.3!! But for good reason too, it's much cheaper and easier to swap out.

if your like me. Do what you really want to do because in the end you'll regret it. Take your time save money and do what you want. Because i've done somethings because it cost less but then i'm like damn I wonder what it would of been like if i would have...........So screw that and do what you want.I've went back and sept that money in the end to get what i wanted to begin with that cost more. Just do it the first time.Plan it rethink it and change that all you want but get it right and do it once.

Hello, guys. Jess here.

take a look at my setup. it was a work in progress since about 2000. i bought it new in 97, has 14,800 miles on it now. it has a lot of mods, too many to list. but basicly (sides what you see) = ported heads, beehives, pro-mag rockers, ahr270 cam, 3.73 posi, converter, edelbrock tes & 3 1/2" exhaust.
the engine pics are kinda old, its even better now. and i have HOOKER SUPER COMP 1 5/8" LT's with true duals and cutouts that are going in.

my recomendation. do a rear mount turbo, fmu, and a tune. you will be happy with that, for the money and effort you have into it. no, it won't be the fastest around. but for the money it will be plenty fun to drive.

Frank, hows it goin. your in VEGAS now ?

If you do decide to go that route, look up Rat from the link in post #5. He's working on that kind of project and is pretty knowledgeable.

a roots can be done. if i was to do it, i would HEAVILY modifly the stock manifold to look much like a regular roots manifold, except taller. so that real injectors could sit under the blower. but that may make it come through the hood. which may not be a bad thing.

can you weld aluminum ? if so, its just a matter of getting the parts and doing it.
