i got some wot tuning done and even a couple of gtechs.

from the best i can tell.

it doesn't spool any faster or slower.
it doesn't make any more power per psi or any less.
it still needs gobs of juice to get it moving.
it looks like i will run right around an 11.0 on 13psi base presure wich is right where i was before.

******* ok, forget what i just said. i was looking at the logs closely and my ait's are higher than i would expect. i went out and checked the pump and it isn't running. there may be a noticable gain with the intake yet but not without the intercooeler pump running. i guess the fact that it runs as hard as hard now without the intercooler pump as it did before with it sugests there is some extra power there.

my iat's on the runs that i made were about 50deg's over what they would be with the pump on. i also put the stock tires back on. they are about 3" taller. that may or may not slow it down. it looks like i might have to go get another run but it is geting harder and harder to do that kind of thing. too much traffic in town and too many deer outside of town.

I like the vic JR intake, short runners are good for FI or big HP. The tuned length of the stock manifold (or ls1, ls6, l92) is negated by boost and I think will actually cost HP. Good luck with the new intake and watch out for those deer!

Only in this part of the damn country can you complain about deer not allowing you to tune you vehicle and it be a valid excuse......

I can guarentee at least 3 days a week that when I wake up @ 5 a.m., there will be deer in my back yard. no kidding. damn deer. If only he could hold still while I sight in this rifle........

My uncle once shot at a pesky deer with a sling shot... and killed it in his backyard out of season lol. Then the funny part ensued.

He had to "get rid of the body" and stuffed it in the trunk of his BMW...

i got a little more to report. we made it to drag week today. my 1/8th mile times are prety much right where they were before. ~13psi = ~ 7.0@100 with an identical 1.70 60'. the only diference is i have the stock tires on the truck but i dont know if that really hurts me if i am not spining. the weather seems prety close to the same too. i know there are variables that make this comparison dificult but i was hopeing the gains would be enough to be clear. we will have to wait till i get on the dyno to get any more data.

i am going to make a post about the first day of drag week in the drag racing section. it was a prety good day...

i have a problem. i just got a chance to look really close at my logs from drag week. it seems i am loosing some fuel presure at the top of 2nd and 3rd. i am having problems with efilive staying conected and that is what i am logging with but the ones that did get loged look like i have a problem.

i took the lines apart in the back of the motor and see some things that could be better. stuff that is actualy worse than the stock set up. i used -6 lines and a prety sharp 90deg fitting into the back of the first fuel rail. i measured a few things. the stock fuel line is exactly 5/16" inside. all of the -6 fuel line fittings are 9/32" then i have that sharp 90 at the rail.

5/16 = .3066sq in.
9/32 = .2483sq in.

didn't sound like much but when you look at it there you can see it is a 20% loss in area. combine that with the sharp 90deg fitting i have and it isn't too hard to see why i might be loosing some fuel presure. i am also running it a little richer over all, in the lower 11's.

i am going to step up to a -8 line from the old fuel line up to the first fuel rail and get a smooth 90deg fitting for that one.

One thing I did notice about the -6AN fittings on my system is I ordered 1 summit brand adapter fitting and 2 Earl fittings (they ony had 1 summit brand and they are cheaper), well the ID of the Earl fitting is probably .100" bigger than the Summit. I used the smaller Summit brand on the return line.
6AN is supposed to be 3/8" (.375)
You might try Earl fittings seeing that you probably don't have them.
