are you planning a nose driven or jackshaft 2300? If you go jackshaft you could probably hit 15+ on the 408 if you over drive the rear pulley and 10% overdrive crank. Leftcoast has a forged 370 with a jackshaft 2300, COG overdriven rear setup and 10% crank and he is getting over 20 lbs. no problem. This should be a sick setup when its all said and done!

Very nice setup...Going to make a **** ton of torque whenever you want it...I cant think of a better platform for that motor to go into...In a 2wd rcsb it would be useless..lol..but fun..Who is going to spec the new cam ? EPS ?

It’s not a new issue, nor is it all the cranks that have a problem, it’s just something I would take a look at and keep in the back of your mind if something arises in the future. Beings the engine has already been run without any apparent issues, I highly doubt you will have an issue. Here is a thread from a year ago where someone was experiencing a mysterious oil leak at the rear of his engine, where I brought up this possible issue and even a response from Rick and his feelings on the subject as well. Too bad the OP in that thread never reported back as to what he found. Again, I would just look at it and if everything looks clean; don’t loose a seconds sleep over it and enjoy your new power-plant, it should be a beast.

Possible cam for this combo? It's the cam Atomic had in his 408/tvs1900 combo.
218/230 .595/.600 117 EPS lobes. That's -10* overlap. Is that a little too much overlap? I know I want 0 or a negative overlap but maybe -10* is leaving some power on the table. This cam was spec'd by Pat G for Atomics build.
Thoughts?

Planning a nose drive for now, I havent looked at the costs diferrences. To get 15+ psi I think I'd have to overdrive the rear and do an 8 rib set up and change the balancer. I know that little combo is about a $1000 upgrade. My bank account has to call "Uncle" at some point. I'm already going to be about $12k in to this lol

Your higher compression and that cam that atomic has should let you hit some decent boost levels with a front inlet front drive. It will idle stock too.

I loved that cam, it drove like stock and had excellent midrange. Some power was probably left on the table especially up top, but I cant stress enough how drivable it was.
