Header question. Truck currently has shorty headers(on the truck when i bought it).also got the stock manifold with the truck. Should I put stock manifold on driver side and sell the shorties or just use the shorty on the driver side?

 

Not sure what brand but here is a pic.

 

I'd sell the shorties and put the money to other things. The truck manifold has been old reliable way over 1000+ hp.

 

That's what I was thinking. Just wanted to make sure before they were gone!

 

Damn it Matt! I go out looking for some 4.8 turbo info and I find your thread.

I have decided that win, lose, go broke, or die trying, the little blue truck will have a turbo on it next year. Unfortunately being an S10 I will have to build all of the piping and headers which will require me to buy a TIG machine and have my dad come weld for me lol.

Glad to see you have parts coming in and this project is making progress. Ready for some fun come next spring.

 

Hey Kentucky! Haha that's funny. Yeah, one day I was browsing the site and decided to buy a truck to turbo. Bought a truck the next week and then ordered turbo kit, cam etc.. It's just a waiting game now. Still need to get a 4l80e and fuel system. When you coming to Louisiana again?

 

Well, I just ordered 4l80e crossmember(thanks dirt_track_racer_81). Now just looking where to buy the harness and yoke. Should have them ordered in a day or two. Still looking for a 4l80 if anyone has a lead on a good one. Just gunna run a stock trans with shift kit for now. Once I figure out the fuel system everything should come together pretty quick! Thinking about running dual 255's w/ hobbs switch and keeping it return less.

 

I'll be down there the weekend of the 31st. I won't be in the blue truck this time though. I smoked the 4L60E in it and haven't had time to rebuild it yet.
