20mpg & 12's-How to?
#21
Not sure what took it down the most since I went from stock to all the mods at once. The stock radix does come with 42# but i upgraded for future growth :-D
I'm running the stock stall ta boot
I dunno if the gt2-3 should really effect mileage since its a relatively mild cam
So after pretty much going from 325hp to maybe 550-600 I dropped 2-3mpg.. percentage wise thats bad.. but still not shabby for a 6000lb truck of its power.
I'm just glad gas prices have dropped

Single digits in the city though.

Now I realize that major hp and mpg usually do not co-exist together, but the mileage some of you guys are getting seems outrageously horrible!
In my stock 01 C3 with awd it got right at 20 mpg at cruise and another 1/2 mpg with the whipple and 525 hp.
In my quest to go faster I went the turbo route dropping over a second (12.3 @ 109) and saw the mpg also drop, although at cruise it would get 16-17 mpg.
I would never go the turbo route again on a truck that I wanted to tow with or use as a daily driver. The cost was twice what I was quoted, the time spent in the shop was twice what I was told (even though the finished product looked great) and the heat under the hood melted everything including the trans lines, making it a one dimensional truck for the track, unless you tried to hot lap it.
My experience with an sc has been much better than with a turbo. Not near the issues and with 3 different vehicles having an sc, every one of them increased the mpg if you kept your foot out of it (hard to do), and not much of the heat issues.
At this point it looks like I will try to sell the 07 and find another 01 C3, and use the 6.2 crate engine that I'm told with tuning will put out 520 hp. maybe a sc on that will get it down to pre roll bar times? Thx!

Trade it on a Duramax powered truck...Or with your current truck I would go with a TVS1900 and TRY to keep your foot out of it on the highway. I guess your current truck has a 6.0L? PM BlownChevy, I think they have tested the 1900 on a vortec max truck.

Had an 04 Dmax. my current 07 is plenty to pull my trailer with camaro. It does'nt pull as good, nor get as good mpg when trailering, but it will get 2+ mpg better than the Dmax without the trailer, cheaper to buy-by a long shot and cheaper fuel.
I have pm'd bc a week ago-no reply

The TVS1900 Denali is getting about 19MPG with Cruise set @ 70.
Cruising @ 90+ for 800 or so of the 1100+ miles from Vegas to Portland it was still @ 15.3. Total trip after I had to slow down a bit in Oregon was 16.2 Elapsed time was 13.5 hours.
I was actually shocked that at similiar speeds on the same drive my mothers STS only got about 2 MPG better than the truck.
