Default 20mpg & 12's-How to?

I'm contemplating selling my 9sec street car (67 camaro) and just making do with a fast streetable truck.
I currently have a nbs 07 ec chevy max 4x4 that runs high 14's with LT's/catback/tune/cai and will get 21 mpg. Wondering if a tvs 1900 and 8 lbs would get it in the 12's with some nitto drag radials I already have?
I used to have a 01 gmc C3 that ran mid 13's with a whipple and low 12's with a turbo, but the turbo took away the mpg and towing ability. I loved the awd though as I live in snow country and may be willing to sell the 07 and go back to a C3 with enough $ to get it into the 12's and still knock down 20 mpg, and have some $ left over to pay a few other bills.
Are the maggies going to get me where I want to go on a stock engine (I'd settle for low 13's) without reliability/trans issues which I went through alot with the other C3), or will it take a built engine with the sc, and a built trans?
I know the 01 trans won't hold that much power w/o help, what about the 07?
LQ4 in the 01 has less cr for more boost vs the 07. ideas? Thx!

Do you have a new body style 07 or a classic 07?

simple bolt on's and a 200 shot of nitrous will get you solid 12's and shouldnt hurt your MPG.

pics of said camaro!

As stated-nbs. NOS not part of the choice. I've got a 150 shot on the 67 camaro. Fine for track use, but for me not a good choice for everyday with trying to locate bottles inside or out of a truck used everyday for work/hauling. Thx!

I say it's totally do-able, at least performance wise. Fuel mileage may be a little harder. I'm still on the original motor at 114K and it seems to still be in good shape. I switched over to an FLT Level 5 at about 75K and have not had a minutes problem out of it. As you can tell from my sig. that the performance is there. I do have a cam, headers, converter and all the other necessary bolt-on's, but the truck is totally reliable and still get's about 18mpg on the highway with 4.56's (had the gears left over from when it was on the bottle). Close to the 20 your looking for.

12's are doable, but a "real" 20 mpg out of a +5500# 4X4 is tough. You could manage it on a smaller/lighter truck. If you're working from a clean slate, a higher compression blown 4.8 in a rcsb could easily get it done. If touching 20mpg occasionally is what you're after...maybe. Just not realistic real world in a heavy 4X4.

Thx for the input! I realize something has to give in performance vs mileage, especially with a heavy truck. I do not need anything heavier than a half ton, and I like the launch of the awd, that the C3 has, along with the snow capability and other benefits of awd.
The current 07 has a few things I like better and at this point would probably just need the tvs 1900 to get to mid 13's vs needing to upgrade brakes, exhaust, ect.. on the 01. Those first year C3's seem to be pricier than I thought.
As far as pics of the 67 camaro-go to you tube and look up ttZ06-running bbc camaro. That's my camaro he's chasing that day at the road course. Thx!

The TVS1900 with some other mods to go with it will get you into the 12's. Wait for the TVS2300 though and it will make your goals easier.

I do feel that a Magnacharger and a "tight" (~2800) converter is the ticket for your goals. As mentioned above, 20mpg and 12's is tough in a heavy 4x4.

I've owned 6 different GMT800 trucks and suv's all with 5.3s or 6.0s, 5 were N/A, 1 Blown and never saw 20mpg with any of them city or hwy. Good luck.
