20mpg & 12's-How to?
#11
When driving conservative with the C3 when it had a whipple on it and running low 13's it would knock down right at 20 mpg cruising at 62 mph. The new 07 with the mods as stated will do 22+ mph at that mph. Once past 67 mph both dropped off a couple mpg's, but this latest 07 with the dod function gets pretty darn good mpg.
I am curious what it would run with a tvs 1900 and what the mpg would be?

haha, 62 mph maybe that's my problem..... I will say that with the mp112HH on my LQ4 with a 2.8 pulley, I was getting 2 mpg better hwy than I did when it was bone stock, city mpg was unchanged. That is pretty impressive considering I added a couple hundred horses in the process.

It's interesting how in 1 thread a guy wants 20+mpg/12's, another gets 14 & in another a guy gets 10-12. The guy getting 10-12 would love to get 14, & 14 wants 16. Everyone has a mpg that they see as acceptable or not.
Some just want better mileage & more powa, you've defined a more direct goal or 2.
If u see a 2mpg on top of your 21 while runnin 12's, that's cool to you. I hope I net +2 when I add power. I'd be ecstatic!!
It'll offset when I have to run premium.
For your goals, I see a Maggie or a turbo in your future.
Let us know how it works out.

I get 11mpg on probably 60% highway cruise set at 73-75... 20mpg and 12's is a fantasy.. unless you either get two different vehicles or get a car. Granted I don't jsut ***** foot around in my truck either.. have power will use it!

awd.... so that does add some drag... If I set the cruise to 72 or so I can eek out 12-13mpg over a long trip. I was expecting a bit better cruise mpg, but b4 all the mods I was avg 13.6mpg

Not sure what took it down the most since I went from stock to all the mods at once. The stock radix does come with 42# but i upgraded for future growth :-D
I'm running the stock stall ta boot
I dunno if the gt2-3 should really effect mileage since its a relatively mild cam
So after pretty much going from 325hp to maybe 550-600 I dropped 2-3mpg.. percentage wise thats bad.. but still not shabby for a 6000lb truck of its power.
I'm just glad gas prices have dropped

I dont know what your budget is.. but my last time at the track i ran a 12.5. i know im a 2wd and alot lighter.
last few times i checked my mileage it was around 16ish with all mixed driving.
When i take it easy ive see 22 on the interstate 26 highway and 17 town (no such thing as "city
in a podunk town")
thats with whats in my sig.... 3.42s, 28" tires, 80E, stock TC, STS.
