I'm upgrading to HP tuners PRO so I can input my wideband to the computer.

I also want to upgrade to a 2 bar MAP. Do I just buy one of these (for example, go to google and search for "silverado 2 bar map" and buy it) and install it and that is that? I'm also having trouble finding one to begin with (if someone could point me in the direction for that )

or will I need to tune it once I install the 2 bar map? (I do not have a license for tuning my PCM yet, so I haven't touched any programming with it)

My guess is, is that the PCM OS will still act like it is a 1 bar MAP (ignore + gauge pressures) until I register/tune my PCM and change the OS to a 2 bar MAP.. correct?

 

Correct. Need linear and offset values for the sensor and you're good to go.

 

if your using the truck mani. then a cobalt 2 bar bap will drop in i got mine from my buddy that sells generic parts it was a airtex unit and worked great. then when you get hp tuners you will need to use 4 credits. 2 to register your vehicle and 2 to upgrade to a 2 bar os. there is a great video tutorial on hptuners website for the upgrade. do not use the 2bar with the 1bar tune. also there is still no way to log your wideband with the mpvi pro alone. you will always need to have your laptop to plot your wideband against your ve but the pro makes it possible. also make absoulutly sure that your truck goes into pe before be or else it won't enrich under boost (for certain os's).

X2 on the cobalt SS 2 bar map sensor... That is what I used on my truck.

 

X3 on the cobalt ss sensor. Are you going to do your own tuning or are you going to send your logs to Nelson?

 

I plan on doing my own tuning, but for now I have nelson's tune in still and will keep that tune until I feel I am comfortable enough to tune on my own

Robby-- thanks for the info, I had no idea I need to use up 2 credits to upgrade the OS... damn.. I only have 4 credits left on my interface. I've already added the link to how to upgrade to a 2 bar map off the hp tuners little flash videos, that will get me started and I'm really thankful for that
