I've been contemplating these three and wondering what the better route would be. It'd be going on a stock 2015 with a 6.2 and an eight speed.
I have had a Magnacharger in the past but never on a stock engine. I did install a Heartbeat on a 2015 Camaro at work a few weeks back and wasn't impressed with the power. I'm guessing it was running 6psi but really wasn't
much power for the money invested. The New Era Performance twin turbo kit looks nice but worried about the filters under the truck and how they'd survive in snowy and rainy conditions. I don't know much about the Whipple. Anyone have and opinions or install any of these on a 2014 or newer truck? How much boost will a stock engine hold and be reliable?

 

I'm assuming this is a DD, I'd do the top mount blower. If you lived in a better climate, I'd go with the twins. That kit is beautiful but I wouldn't trust the low mounts in snow and rain.

 

I like the Maggie but I agree not impressive with stock boost. The Whipple as stock is a better option imo. I like the twins but its not like its that much more powerful than the Whipple. I worry about inspections also. If you are not keeping it at stock boost and voiding the trucks warranty anyway there is not a bad choice here. Depends on how fast you want to go. 12's,11's or 10's. I think the low mount is not as much trouble as you might imagine. I drove my sts believe it or not in a turd floater more than once with no ill effects.

 

<p>I think either top mount is a great choice. It really depends what you plan on doing. How much boost and power do you want? At low boost the big whipple may be somewhat lazy. To that end the new DI 6.2 is pretty meaty down low and those evo tec's seem to do pretty well down low even with just modest boost.&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>At say 8-10 psi you won't beat the power under the curve of a maggie. For more boost I think the whipple will work the best. In a cold weather climate Id stay away from the twins unfortunately.&nbsp;</p>

 

It's a DD but definitely not wanting to get carried away like the last truck.

 

New Era Performance is in Rochester. We get a pretty good amount of snow here. Maybe Mike can chime in and say how their kits are working in the elements.

 

I've talked with him. He says all the kits he's sold have gone to Dubai.

 

Maggie or a whipple. I have ridden in a 2015 escalade with a TVS on it. Really zippy but by no means fast. The 8sp was pretty cool after it was tuned.

 

Yeah I'd like a little more than zippy. The 8 speed isn't that great on stock tuning.

 

It had the stock 3.4 pulley and i am sure the escalade weighs a ton.

My buddy said the 8sp shifted so much better. All if that was in the stock magnuson tune. A pro tune i would imagine would be even better
