Default dyno tomorrow!!

finally got truck done, heading to ips motorsports to have tuning done in the morning. how much will i make? hoping to get 450-500rwhp. going to go up to 10-12 lbs of boost. probably won't push it any harder than that. should get me to my goal, if it stays in one piece. made 315 rwhp before turbo. i don't know how well the gears and cam are going to like the turbo. cam likes high rpm, spun it to 6800 last time and hp is still climbing. stock 3.42 gears will probably be put back in, just did't want to do it til i drive it under boost w/4.56's. i'll post results tomorrow evening.

Im curious to see what your numbers are. 500 shouldnt be too hard to get, foose04 is well over 600 with his single turbo and an essentially stock 4.8. I am going to the dyno on Friday and Ill be running 12lbs with my Radix, will be interesting to see the difference between a turbo and a blower at the same boost level. These little 4.8's like boost, and can make tons of power!

If you spin it that high again it should make 500. As long as the turbo can flow enough at that RPM.

good luck friday. how many lbs you running when you put down 435? hows the 5-speed holding up? yes i have a similer setup to Foose w/ a little more gear and cam. that should make dyno #'s higher, but not be as good on the street or strip. i'm not looking for 600 hp tho. 500rwhp would put a big smile on my face.

i think the turbo will run out of gas before 6800. would like to keep it under 6500rpm if i can.

I was running about 9.5lbs, a 217/219 .533/.533 114 cam and meth injection. I will be switching to E85 when I up the boost friday, and dropping the meth. Just installed a Aeromotive 340 and will be running 70lb injectors, hopefully that will supply enough fuel. My goal someday is 500rwhp, but I dont think I can get there with a 112 Radix. I will have to go turbo to get there, but I just love the instant power of the roots blower.

5 speed is holding up ok so far. Sometimes I feel like the clutch is slipping but its hard to tell cuz the tires break loose so easily! I have over 400 ft/lbs at 2000rpm so at low speeds theres instant tire burning at every throttle tap even with the 20's.

When the clutch goes Im just gonna do a T56 swap. I'm getting sick of the 2-3 shift. Its impossible to speed shift and I hate it. I assume yours is the same way?

yea that 2-3 shift if rough at high rpm. i got the same plans, run it til it breaks. than put the t56 in there

wow this turbo thing is fun!! i still got some work to go to get it where i want it, but made some pretty good #'s for the problems we had. this was done on mustang dyno so #' s are a little lower than dynojet. 432hp/467tq, when you see the graph your see the problem and why the tq is so much higher. i'll post it in a minute. wastegate is not working properly. major spike in boost (14#) at low rpm and it slowly goes down (8#). this is all w/6#spring in and no boost controller. it got late and we couldn't figure it out, so i'll have to go back up when i get it fixed. would like to get a flat 12#. that should help that hp # out a lot. it should easily see over 500 hp on the mustang dyno when its fixed. he put a very conservative tune in it til i get control of the boost. maybe Kyle can chime in on possible fix.
