If you're concerned about mileage I wouldn't start modding your vehicle IMO...

With the mods in my sig I average 13-15 and that's just a little highway driving. A TR220 with a TT3000 would probably net 15 average although I do get good mileage on the highway (around 20 depending on conditions)

my old camaro got good mileage with the cam and headers, 2mpg overall. Its the stalls that kill mileage.

I run a Yank TT3000 which is a nice truck converter since it's not loose but stalls up (2800 behind a 5.3) real quick if you roll on it good. Around town right now I'm getting a little better mileage since I've learned to ease into it from a stop. I've ridden in a few trucks with really loose converters and from a stop they take a lot of RPM's to get rolling :/

i have a question, this thread is on the tr-220 on a 112, but what about the tr-220 on a 114? how does it work, does anyone use it? also i was wondering about the tsp-220 it has .03 more lift to it, and on tsp's website they list 112 as a choppy idle, 114 as a standard smooth idle, and even a 116 lsa sleeper idle. i kinda wanted a nice smooth idle would going to a wider lsa hurt power? how would it affect the power band?

There isn't a noticeable difference between the 112/114 TR220, just maybe a powerband pushed slightly higher into the RPM range. The TSP220 has a little higher lift but is pretty much the same as the TR220 as they both use XER lobes IIRC. The LSA with the cams in question should be chosen depending on what kind of idle you want really. A 114LSA still will lope just a little but it won't be anything like the choppy idle of a 112. A rule of thumb is the higher the LSA the more your powerband is pushed to the right. It may not be a lot, but there are dyno graphs on here that will show you the difference in powerband between a 112vs.114
