I had a TSP220 in my 4.8, 220/220 .581 .581 -112

It was great and I loved it. No stall, stock converter, TransGo HD2 kit, stock manafolds, borla muffler, 3.42 gears or whatever was stock, stock tires and wheels too. I hauled several yards of dirt, multch or whatever with it . . . no issues . . . and 160K on the ticker !!!!

No track times or dyno, it was just something to try out before a motor swap. I still got 18-20 mpg doing 75-85 on the freeways . . .

little less than the stock cam, but it wasn't noticeable after 2-3 days . . rocked it for 3 months with no issues. I ran it with a 87 and a 91 tune.

91 tune was better than stock for the take off.

TooTall's transmission is a freak. 160k miles with just a shift kit and it's been through some major abuse with his built 6L. The TSP220 felt pretty cool in the 4.8 considering it wasn't a speed machine by all means.

Lc2SFIv6, do you know if the converter was locked up for the dyno? If so, what RPM/MPH?

The dyno on the hotcam isn't terrible considering the lift and the lobe design. Comparing the hotcam to a TR220 is apples to oranges. They're both cams, but have their places in the performance world. If you want great mileage but still have a lope then you get a hotcam. My mileage with the hotcam on the freeway was 25mpg consistently and I averaged 17-18 which was a miracle considering my driving habits . Now the TR224, 4.10's, and TT3000 is a different story...
