I would think your about dead on with 300rpm, that sounds right to me. Just my guess as well though

hardened 7.4" no adjustment

did you have any other numbers from lower down in the powerband. how does it pull off idle to around 2500 rpms. I mean most DD dont see past 3000 cruising around town and such. Did you lose alot of low end.
