Don't go thru the water box without drag radials or skinnys on the front wheels. Street tires absorb water, and water gets in the treads. I've seen plenty of tools with street tires on all 4 drive thru the box, do a burnout, and trail water all the way to the tree (from the front tires). This is why most guys with slicks or radials in the back and street tires in the front go around the water box and then back up to it.

dont get a radial that is to short it wil hurt your top end being awd. also you have to run the exact same tires all around on the awds so skinnies up front would hurt .

now are you sure your tires are spinning? i had a recent issue with my converter that felt like spinning but was just super flashing to almost 5k. that converter sucked . if you can brake traction off the line and not in the water box something is up.

if you launch it in the water box it should get your tires clean if running radials.

this is how i did it when i ran smaller tires, launch out of the water box

Hmm, I'm almost positive they're spinning. I can feel it catch. I think my converter is good.Is there a way I can tell by looking at my logs from the track?
I don't try to spin in the water box. I just drive past it and then stomp on it to clean the tires off.
If I had to do one of these options first what would it be, tires, caltracs, or front limiters?

I'm heading to the track tomorrow, weather permitting. I wasn't able to buy any of the things you guys suggested this week. I think I'll try to lower the tire pressure a little more and also try to do a burn out in the water box.
I just hope my times don't look like crap again. I spent a lot of money this year and no improvement. That's tough to explain to the wife LOL.
How high should I rev before launching? I always hear mixed answers.
Thanks,
Mike

With a 3200 stall you should be able to launch off idle.

I went to the track today and did MUCH better with traction. Last time my fuel tank was almost empty. This time I had a half tank. Also, this time I used the water box.
I have an all new best ET, 12.29 with 1.88 60'.
So maybe with other recomendations you guys gave me, I'll can do better next year.
Thanks,
Mike
