Thru a PM I was thinking of how you would Dial back your vehicle. What are some of you doing or have seen to dial back vehicles. Throttle stops? Tune? name your ways you have seen and etc
I know ppl do this to be consistant in certain racing classes and figured what the hell since its the end of racing time to share your tricks of the trade

I have seen a guy "shim" his gas pedal... no joke.. it was the most ghetto thing I'd ever witnessed... he had pieces of rubber he velcro'd together to make it thicker and thinner... limiting pedal travel...
I know some people here use their tuning to take a couple degrees timing out, or lower shift points and land on a certain number... there's a bunch of ways to do it.

I pulled 3* across my HI octane table and it cut .3 off my 1/4 times. I thought it would be more consistant however it wasn't. Once you lock down the tune, you should be consistant at max effort. I never tried early shifts (like 4500).

With the 64 Dodge running in NSSA class. We run the car heads up in a 10.00 index. If at any given track the car starts running a 9.98, we just add ballist. We use 25lb bags of lead shot. If at any given track the car runs a 10.10 or slower, we're normally screwed. I think that adding weight would also be a choice. It all depends on how much slower you want to go.
