Now this is a short term comparison, one tank of gas each but it gave me a pretty good idea on the two tunes. Today before work I loaded up the 87 tune again, truck felt no different driving to work, almost better than it did with the 91 tune. After seeing the Dyno results for the new Superchips Flashpaq on the HTC forum, I decided to post my stock, 87 and 91 tune G-tech run results. These are average runs along with the best run for each tune. I made about six runs with each with the SC tunes but only used three because I didn't consider the other three good runs because of excessive tire spin. The stock runs were from my Hemi Hat vs Airaid MIT post I did a few weeks back.
Without Superchips
Average 0-60 run: 7.21
Average 1/4 run: 15.58 @ 91.3 mph
Best 0-60 run: 7.10
Best 1/4 run: 15.50 @ 91.5 mph
87 tune runs
Average 0-60 run: 6.71
Average 1/4 run: 15.20 @ 94.3 mph
Best 0-60 run: 6.70
Best 1/4 run: 15.18 @ 94.4 mph
91 tune runs
Average 0-60 run: 6.72
Average 1/4 run: 15.19 @ 94.3 mph
Best 0-60 run: 6.67
Best 1/4 run: 15.15 @ 94.9 mph
As you can see, the 91 performance tune is not really much better than the 87 tune. I'm going to use the 87 tune from now on, the ever so slight gain isn't worth the cost of the 91 gas for daily driving. The 87 tune average was better than the stock tune average by .5 seconds 0-60, the 1/4 runs were better by .38 seconds and 3 mph. Overall, I think the SC is a great mod, should be first on this list!

I haven't tried mine in 87 mode yet, but by your results I should stick with that till I get to the track, then bump it up to 91 just for the races. I also notice your mph is up about the same amount as mine then without the programmer, I did the manual shifting to get it there, did you do the same?

While I was at the track last night, a guy known as 528hemi on DTW came out with his 04 QC/SB 4x4, with nothing more then a drop in K&N he ran a 15.7, which is about a 15.4 at sea level... about as fast as a stock SS (for all those that say the ss will kill a 4x4 hemi) He also just got his Superchips programmer. After two runs he installed it. Slowly over the next 4 runs, his times dropped to a 15.5, or a 15.2 at sea level. We figure if he kept going he could probably see another 10th or two reduction out of his times. This goes with my findings on my 03 programmer. My first two times out I only got a 2 tenths improvment out of it, however with my times last night I was seeing 4 tenths out of it, and probably a little extra help from some cool air.

6700-6800 is as high as I'm going to go but I have at least changed my valve springs. We're going to dyno it to see where the power curve starts to drop and then set it accordingly. If it isn't that high we'll pull it down some but we won't go any higher than 6,800.
I think Hot Rod's article said something about 7,100- I wouldn't do that though, atleast not without swapping out the crank and some other parts.
