A friend of mine has his 2008 6.7 Dodge at the dealer b/c of poor performance and check engine light.
The dealer checked it out and states it has bad fuel and that theturbo, egr, fuel pump, air filter, fuel filter need replacement and flush of system is needed. The EGR, TURBO, and AIR FILTER thru up red flags to us.
The car has 34k miles and still under warranty, but they are saying b/c of the bad feul warranty won't cover the repairs.
We went to the dealer to see this bad fuel..didn't look different than fuel pulled out a tank that's low picking up some debris from the bottom of the tank. We asked how a turbo could seize and mech stated the car ran rich sooting up the turbo causing it to seize. My question is this possible?

I would get a second opinion...
And I would also take a sample of the fuel and get it tested, bring them back the report and make them cover warranty

he should ask them what one has to do with the other (fuel and turbo) Seeing as how the turbo never sees the fuel, theres nothing that the fuel can do to cause turbo failure.

If it ran REALLY rich i might be able to believe the turbo could be damaged, also egr and the dpf would accompany that. But if they are blaming bad fuel/debris in the tank is not right, debris in the fuel would cause a blockage and would mean less fuel not more.. Also the air filter obviously never comes into contact with any of that..

Low oil is about the only thing I could think of. I don't see how fuel can have anything to do with it. Fuel that bad would have most likely damaged the engine.

That doesn't sounds plausible. Did your friend have an aftermarket tune on it that disabled the safeguards for EGT's? Have someone take the turbo apart and look at the turbine and see how much soot is really on the blades and take a look at the shaft. The temperatures needed to seize it would have had to of had him running around pissing black soot on EVERYBODY even at idle to get the temps that high IMO.

Went to the dealer and got some fuel from the return side and sent it off this past Monday. Waiting on the results but before we sent it off we had an experienced diesel Mech look at it and he said it looks normal. He thinks the stealer wants customer to pay as warrantee pays less than customer pay per hour and finding any excuse they can to get the manufacturer to deny warrantee will put more money in their pocket.
