Default Truck Shootout help

I'm participating in a shootout with co-workers in feb and want to know what to expect. I'm in an '02 2500hd silvy eclb 8.1 2wd and the competiton is a '99 Z71 stock and a '10 silvy bone stock and an '08 tacoma cc v6 4x4. There's a total of about 10 competitors but they are the main ones. How do I stack up amd what do I need to do to take home the cash and bragging rights? I have access to a nitrous kit and will probably have it just for insurance but hope I won't need it. Any help is greatly appreciated.

The 99 and 10 will prolly be faster unless you have bolt-ons and tune. That nitrous kit will make short work of them.

Really? I'm floored. I thought 340hp/455tq would have it's way with a 5.3 one being less than 300hp and the other being 325/325. And me being 2wd against all 4wd trucks. I haven't lost to 4.8,5.3, or 6.0 on the street. I used to own a 6.0 and the 8.1 feels a ton faster. Damn! I'm setting myself up.

Both weigh less, yours has bigger frame, rear diff, and trans. Not to mention the heavy 8.1l.
You should get them off the line but they will make a strong come back at the end.
My buddy bought a 99' z71, I was surprised how fast it was.
If it was me I'd do a 200hp shot and make an ugle race. But that's me.

2 questions:

Firstly, will the 8.1 hold a 200 shot safely? And secondly, what times should
I expect if it will?

I ran a 200 shot for 2 years. Put a 15 lbs bottle through it almost every weekend. I ran the bottle too low and had a backfire after those 2 years tho.
My truck was a 2500hd exsb 4wd and ran 13.5. 2wd should be 14.00 or lower. You won't have the advantage of 4wd launches.

Thanks a ton for all the info. Looks like I'm gonna need more than I anticipated.

you'll have the 5.3L's off the line if you can hook up but once they hit 2500-3000 RPM's they'll start pulling hard, whether it'll be enough i dunno but if they don't let their trucks shift too early they'll run good, interested to hear the outcome, have fun!
