8.1 headers/// old BBC bolt pattern?
Picked up a 8.1 today for a steal. It's going into a 67 ss chevelle i had originally slated a 6.0 swap but can't beat cubic inches. Are the 8.1's the standard BBC and port configuration that GM has used forever.
It's hot, it's late and after a long day I haven't gone out to the shop to pull off the manifolds and try the vortec 454 manifolds laying on the floor. Just figured I'd ask to see.
Thanks

Sweet, Im going injected with it. I can build the truck harness to fit my car and none of the crankiness of a carb. I'm going to swap the cam in it she's gotta have a bumpity idle to match the SS demeanor. The 6.0 was going in but with such a smoking deal on the 496 I couldn't pass it up. No replacement for displacement.

the only way to swap old heads on a 8.1L would be to get different gaskets to redirect the water passages, then you would have to run a manifold for a carb, i guess you gould drill it and install injectors and fuel rail... Way to much work and money for the hp gain.
