Thanks for the heads up on mcmaster, they always have good stuff.
Corey what metco idlers did you get? IW doesnt make any larger diameter idlers. My problem is I need one that has at least an 88mm inner diameter to clear the whipple bracket (see pic)
Included idler:
Problem:
Reason:
The power steering pump is a huge pain in the ***. I tried to use a 3 jaw puller on the outside of the pulley to pull it off but it wasnt bugding and just kept digging into the shaft. When I used a bolt in the shaft it just bent the bolt, so I decided to take the whole thing off. This is impossible btw with the pulley still on since one of the bolts bottoms out on the pulley before it disengages the pump, so I had to cut the bolt with a sawzall.
Finally got the old pump out and went to put in the new one and appears fine but I cant press the 8rib pulley on far enough with the installer I have. Dont have a good way to hold the pulley and I cant get enough leverage on the pusher bit piece. Even the 2x4 and 5lb hammer wasnt making any progress, still needs to go on another inch or so. Next bet is the 20ton press or 10lb hammer.
