Yea the laser guy didnt seem happy about it. Funny how they will do 6" steel but wont do over 1/2" aluminum.

Reflective materials like aluminum and stainless bounce the Beam back. This is extremely hard on the optics. The optics in the head alone are probably around $500. If it ruins the beam path lens's it could easily be a few hundred more for each lens. Plus depending on the shop, they may need to have someone come in to realign the lens's when they are replaced.

So here it is with no spacer, the intercooler is approximately 1" from the bottom of the intercooler to the manifold.

Obviously with 1" spacer it is now 2" off the bottom, but its a huge difference in giving the air a clean shot to the ports.

Yea, but at $180/hr for waterjet and $350/hr for CNC having parts made in something other than steel sucks
