Can someone in Cali who is familiar with the titling/registration process PM me their phone#? I have a question about transferring ownership of a car without a title ASAP. Thanks

I've spoken to this guy on the phone several times about his car. We talked over details, damage, and he sent me a crapload of pics of the car. We finally agreed on a price, and I drove to Fullerton this morning to pick up the car. Get there, check it out, drive it, everything's cool, tell him we can go ahead with the deal - he pulls out the paperwork, shows me emissions forms, transfer forms, pink application form.....no title. Then it turns out that all of the forms he has show the car being registered to another guy, who he said was his co-worker, who is in Dallas for the next 2 and a half weeks. The forms were signed by the other guy, but not notarized. There was not enough there to meet the minimum requirements that AZ requires to re-title a vehicle. That would have been nice information to know BEFORE I drove out there. What a waste.

I'll let you know what I decide to do, may take the car money and use it to start remodeling my house instead. I need to think on it for a couple days.
