Default Lever Action Rifles

Can anyone recommend a good lever action rifle? I've always wanted one and now I have the means to buy one. Its just going to be for fun...plinking and target practice. Not going to be hunting much at all. I was looking at the .357mag/.38 sp chambered ones.

Marlin 1894 Cowboy

I also like the Marlin 336 in a 30-30 caliber, but I have a bolt action 30-06 so I probably wouldn't have a lot of use for it.

Anyone have one or recommend one?

cant go wrong with a marlin lever gun. i personally like .45-70, that thing will bring down a god damn buffalo if you need it too. 44 mag is a great all around caliber.

Both of those would be expensive plinking guns.

I say go for the .357/.38spl chambered rifle.

I've got a 44 marlin, I love it for a hog gun. There isn't really any "cheap" ammo these days

I have had a glenfield mod 30a 30-30 for 20 years now, my first rifle handed down to me from my dad. My favorite still.

Ive been wanting a 38/357 or a 44mag Lever for awhile now. Mainly to hunt with and plink, mount the suppressor on it and it turns into a whole new ball game
