Default Turn signal settings?

I am pretty sure I had this happen once before but can't remember how I fixed it. I probably got the answer here, too, but can't find it.

My 2011 Silverado used to blink the turn signals 3 times for a "lane change". That is, activate the turn signal but don't "latch" it in. Suddenly, it blinks them 6 times. It seems to have made this decision on its own, and I want to change it back but don't know how!

I also don't have an owner's manual, or I'd look it up... Anyone know how to change this?

Sometimes Hyper flash means a defective bulb (burnt out) somewhere in the loop. That's the way the factory tells us something is amiss

Just checked all signal lamps: nothing burned out, all functional.

our work van started doing this too, then just quit working all together- it failed, shorted out

the “tap” to signal changing lanes

My 17 Sierra flashes more than 3 times when in tow/haul mode, can't remember if it's 6 times or not though.

Oh, THAT is interesting. I started using tow mode recently to take advantage of the more aggressive shift points. That coincides with the 6-blink turn signal tap. Thanks! I'll see if turning that off sends it back to 3-blink taps...

Thanks for this, I am back from vacation and drove the truck yesterday. Switched back and forth from tow to normal and found that the number of turn signal flashes definitely coincide with tow mode. 6 for tow mode; 3 for normal.
