Default Tuning a turbo vortec 5,3

Hi!

Im planing to turbocharge my 2002 silverado 5,3.

I wanna run 7-8psi of boost. Im looking for 400-450hp (on the flywheel)

I know i have to get:

Turbo, wastegate, intercooler, maybe bigger injectors and a bigger fuelpump.

I saw on the STS-kits that they have the diablo predator tuner.
My question now: Can i tune fuel and boost only with the predator tuner??

Best regards from switzerland Breth

Im assuming you meant to say 7-8 psi of boost. That power level can easily be accomplished at that boost level.

You will definitely need:
Larger injectors - 42lb/hr can be used, but look for 60's while you are at it.
Intercooler
Wastegate
Blow Off Valve
Turbo + piping
Oiling provisions

And of course your tune. Its not the preferred way to do it, but according to the predator site, you can adjust injector size. The boost tuning might be more difficult.

There are better kits out than STS and better tuning solutions... I recommend that you look around the forced induction section.

Oh yeah sorry! i meaned 7-8psi

So does that mean that with the predator i dont can tune the car when it got boost? So do the electronic only reed the air flow sensor to give more fuel when under boost?

Maf reads airflow, not boost.

Sounds like a Mail order tune would be your best bet.

Yes, your stock one. Look into Efilive. They also have a good tuning forum
