Default Tune and nitrous?

So Im going to get the wait4me tune here pretty quick. Down the road Im going to add nitrous. Can he program the pcm to be ready for nitrous even though its not hooked up now? Or how would be the best way of going about this?

Yes, timing will be a bit different but all else should remain the same.

So he can tune for nitrous and change timing for driving around daily and then hitting the bottle at the track?

You will need a timing tuner to be able to change the timing n/a to nitrous. He should be able to tune for the nitrous, but your n/a times will be a little slower vs. an all motor tune without the timing tuner. It will be allright though to have a nitrous tune and drive it everyday. Just tell him your mods and what shot you plan to run and you will be ok.

Couldn't the tuner setup two spark tables? Low octane and high octane. Once he gets a little knock while spraying, it should switch to the low octane spark tables.

wait4me uses efi live. you could set up and external button just for the spray. so this way your basically getting the most out of you n/a tune and at the touch of a button, it switches to the nitrous tune. that's how my tuner has his car setup.

Correct, COS5 is the nitrous system. Your activation switch wires into the pcm, and once you arm it you'll be running with less timing. I think that you can only run COS5 on 2002 operating systems though, unless they recently added it for newer models.
