trans tuning?
#1
I have a guy that wants me to make his truck shift harder. He has a built 4l60 and I know I read somewhere that you are not supposed to up the shift pressure on a built tranny. What is a safe pressure for this tranny? What do the tables under the Auto Tcc heading do? Should any of those be changed?

Is it ok to raise the pressure on a trans with a shift kit? On the Auto Tcc tables, how do these affect the performance? Do you want the converter locked or unlocked on shifts? I was looking on someones tune and the apply and release speeds were increased and the duty cycle was max 100 and min 95. What do these mean?

I think you should do a bit of reading before you start changing things
Don't mess with the TCC Release TPS (currently 100%) tables. It looks to me like somebody has already raised the shift pressure tables, I do not believe they are set to 96 stock!
You are working on too many things at one time IMO, keep it simple and make small changes and see how they work out.
Go to hptuners.com and start reading...I have had this software for a year and am still clueless

I have been reading and trying to understand more about auto trans settings. I have had hptuners for about two years but all I have done have been manual trans. The reason I asked about the apply and release settings is because I looked at other tunes from the searching I did and some others were a lot different including the release tps table. I haven't changed anything on the tune yet. Just trying to understand what everything can be changed so I don't mess anything up.

I've never altered or seen anyone else's tune that had the TCC release tables altered but you can reset the speeds for lock and unlock in the Normal, Cruise and Performance (apply/release) tables.
