Default Trailer Brake Controller - No Voltage

Long time no post - I'm in need of some help from my fellow PT.net folk!

2004 ECSB Z71 1/2 ton with factory tow package and a Tekonsha Prodigy P2 trailer brake controller. I used the factory harness to make the brake controller plug and play, using the factory plug next to the brake pedal fuse box.

The unit works as it should (.c. when connect, .. when not connected, etc) however I do not get a voltage reading when the trailer is connected and I'm on the brakes. I'm not getting trailer brakes either, unless I engage the manual lever. I've checked fuses in the truck and none are bad as far as I can see, any ideas?

double check your wiring connections. If you matched colors from the controller to the adaptor cable that's where you will find your problem.

It sounds like the controller is not seeing the brake switch input 12v when the pedal is depressed.

I use a Tekonsha Voyager and I get a similar issue. Mine has to do with poor contact at the trailer plug.

Did you break out the wire by the fuse box and attach it to the 12V lug on the front of the fuse box+

This was the first thing I thought of. Also have to install the big fuse to make it all work.
