Default traction control function problem

For some reason the Traction Off light is staying on .I've unhooked it and connected it back.unhooked the battery and even bought a new switch and tried it anf its the same thing. It says its off but time the truck spins it flashes Low Traction and kills the power. What controls the switch for me to check? Is it a relay or what? I have 4:56 gears and it spins easily and keeps killing the power which gets old. Its a 2002 sierra. Any help would be greatly appreciated

A while back I've just never been able to fix it. I was doing an led install in the switch when it happened which was why I thought it was the switch but I've changed it to a stock one and still didn't help. The function works far as the truck spins and it kills the power but I have no way of turning it off since the button isn't working

And this is why it is still broken lol. No one knows anything about the switch??? It has to get signal from something?? Trans? Sensor? Relay?

Thats why. It sees a mismatch in wheel speed based on the gears programed in the pcm. You swaped the gear ratio and it doesnt add up. I bet if you scanned it with a more indepth scan tool it would show something under the abs module.

The abs controls the traction control? If its as simple as the tune I'll put my stall in asap and get retuned, I've had it sitting around for forever but didn't want to put it in until I got this issue fixed.

Yes, the traction control system reduces wheel spin by applying the brakes using the ABS pump. I know that it does calculations based on transmission output shaft speed and wheel speed based on the Tire size and the Gear Ratio programed into the PCM.

On a friends truck, his tuner forgot to change the gear ratio and it went into limp mode. But it's an 03-05 style truck and the electronics are a little different.
