Hey guys, my rcsb is gonna get 100%, 100% TQ Managment removed from motor and trans.
NOW...my dad wants to get his 2004 CC 5.3, Gibson catback, Volant ram air intake and tb spacer are the only mods. Were gonna get his tuned at the same time...however, he towns with his truck probably about a dozen times a year....How much TQ Removal would be safe for motor and trans??
100$ motor....70% Trans...this truck si vertualy stock

I have no TM in my Yukon, its 100% gone. I tow all the time, anywhere from 4500lbs to 13500lbs and not a problem. It tows like a dream. I say go ahead and take it all out. He isnt making enough power to hurt the trans, and I doubt he is doing many WOT runs with heavy trailers. lol

The difference is you have the 4L80E trans and his dad has the 4L60E trans. His best advise is to install a shift kit, add Corvette 1-2 servo and Billet OD servo. Keep about 30% TM and he should be OK. I put 90K on that set up pulling 7700lbs enclosed car tailer 6-9,000 miles per year for 5 years.

My Yukon has a 4L60E and I have put 40k miles on it in the last year, most of which with a trailer in tow. One trip was from Maine to Texas pulling 8500lbs. Thats through the Tennessee mountians which are just plain crazy. Miles of 6-8% grade, and the same thing downhill. I didnt have trailer brakes either.
