Time for 60lb's I guess
#1
I sorted out some boost drop issues had for a little while this weekend and bumped up my shift points to 5700. Took it out and did a 0 to 100mph run ( closed course of course) and it ran great. But low and behold my IDC is now at 107% at the shift. Looks like it might be time for some 60lb'rs, so how much fun are they to tune for? Change IFR table and Min Pulse width, anything else?

My 5.3 was good to go with just the IFR correction. But I have done a return-style conversion so I have a lower FP at idle than returnless (52 vs 60 psi). This being a 6.0 might help as well.

Was working OK for a while but the pump seems to be getting weaker and weaker up top. I've read that the Walbros are typically good for about a year.
I used my factory fuel line as the return and added a -8 AN feed line with a check valve and external filter along the way. Y-d to the rear of both rails and exit the front of the rails to an adjustable FPR. FPR to factory line for return. Return spills back into the factory intank bucket.
I will probably do something using a stock tank module/surge tank/external pump setup if I ever get a chance to work it out. It will still be a return setup. The only mod to the stock tank will be adding a return fitting to the top of the module or tank. That way you maintain the full functionality of the stock module unless you have a design that requires back pressure for the operation of the siphon/venturi/jetpump system. The surge tank will provide an adequate reservoir for WOT blasts and the external pump(s) will provide the necessary flow. No worries about how full the main tank is.

Pat, are you going lean at your shift points? If not, i say if you don't plan any other mods, don't waste your money with new inj's. I know i'll catch **** for saying this, but if your not running lean, who cares about idc.

Josh, ya I hear ya. I am not going lean, so I have thought of that. However at the same time If I do the 60's then I can do a cam like I have been wanting and more boost. But then again I need to stop at some point. When they were in the 90% range I wasnt toooo concerned but now that it crested over 105-109 I not a big fan of that.
