Default think im hitting my rev limiter?

Once in a while I'll be cruising and smash the gas at the top of second it will cut out right before shifting into 3rd. How do I raise my rev limiter in HPT??

hopefully a rev/shift change will fix the prob. when my truck did that it was a sign of the transmission slipping.

My truck still does that from time to time and I've seen a couple others do it.

Don't remember the exact tab but look for a fuel cutoff tab X RPM and raise that. I have mine way above my shift points and it still does strange things at shifts when kicked down.

WJ & KY,

Are you both still running stock 65e's (not including shift kit)? usually when you hit the rev limiter especially when the truck is modified for more power its because the trans cannot shift fast enough when its commanded. My truck occasionally does the same thing on kick down. I have my 1-2 WOT shift set to 6050 in my tune but my trans dosn't actually shift until closer to 6400. Another thing to look at is the kick down speed. You might JUST be on the border of the 4>3 kick down so sometimes it will be a 4>2 kickdown at a very high mph. This will also cause a delay in shift.

yeah im still runnin the stock 60e + shift kit and servos. I know the tranny isn't slipping, and like mentioned above. It doesn't do it all the time. Smost times it shifts around 5800 and other time It'll hit 6k or more and do it.

Oh well I guess its not somthing to really worry about.

You probably need to check your tranny pressures at various levels... Your line pressures are determined by how much torque you are outputing, Less line pressure means slower shift.....

Pretty sure my line pressure is stock, I didn't want to up them since I have the shift kit and it shifts pretty hard and fast already

Mine did it with the original trans and shift kit and the FLT5. It's not hitting rev limiter in my case. At one point I upped the FCO to 7500. Still did it. It runs through the gears fine at WOT. Only happens at the 1-2, 2-3 shift after a kickdown and not all the time. I'm sure its tune related but damn if I can find it. I spent a lot of time on it way back.
