Default speed density???

what kind of changes are needed to go to an SD tune, other than removing the MAF? I want to get rid of the MAF to be able to run different cai and just get rid of that particular part. are there any other changes necessary to do so?

So you want to go to speed density just because you want to run a new intake setup? That seems really stupid in my opinion. Also, there's no such thing as a COLD air intake. It's just a marketing gimic.

The idea behind speed density is that the engine is controlled by manifold absolute pressure. The MAP sensor reads the engine vaccum and designates the air fuel ratio. There really isn't much advantage to doing it on a stock truck, but for force induction, it makes things less complicated especially when the MAF begins to max out.

your just gonna have to do some readin up on it..go to efilive and go to there forum..all your fueling is done by {B3647} commanded fuel vrs rpm which means you can make the air fuel ration anything you want..at cruise mine is 16.5 and i get 16mph with my truck with my mods in sig plus a few..once my map pressure comes up it goes to 12.9..its mainly for boosted engine that want to run 2 and 3 bar map sensors but can still work great for n/a..you have alot better control of the fueling

the main reason i have it is just better contol of the air fuel ratio
