are we taking a code scanner? If so, the more you spend, the more you get. For 100-150 you can get one that will read and clear codes, let you see freeze frame data (what was happening when the code was set) and little else. It may not read all codes for the engine/trans, it WON'T read ABS codes, airbag codes, 4x4/transfer case codes or body codes. And another helpful feature you won't get is a current data viewer, which is a (somewhat) realtime view of what all the sensors are reporting to the computer. For that you are looking at over $1000 most likely.

Cool

I am using AutoEnginuity if you are looking for scanning/datalogging tool. If you are planning on lots of mods and tuning in the future then HPTuners and EFILive have nice scanning/logging software included.

Sorry guys, I was out for a couple of days. I want the best one money can buy. Also does anyone have any comments on best or worst experiences with any of the companies? I want to get a hp tuner as well, but I thought I read that you have to be licensed? Most of you seen my loss of power post, and I still haven't fixed yet. I'm tired of dealing with incompitent shops who say they can fix my truck but don't. So I will fix my own truck. Alot of you have tried to help the best you can, and I appreciate all the responses. I want to learn how to do it anyways. Many of you really know what you doing with the Gen III motors and I want to learn from you. So I may ask alot of questions, hopefully all of them are not stupid.

Cool

Check out the Sponsors for HPTuner or EFILive ---------------->

I don't think you can go wrong with either one. Check out the features and so on of both and pick the one you like. Give them a call and see how it goes. If you are not satisfied with their response then check out the other one. They come with scanning/logging software as part of the package and are great tuning packages for those who are patient and want to learn.
