i have an 07 truck trying to help a customer out.
Did a turbo swap over. Fixed a HUGE turbo cluster mess.
After installing everything. Went to start. The engine would crank in the acc/ (first click of the key)
so started hunting. Found a ground wire that was damaged.
Ok. The key now works correctly. Set the fuel psi to 53.
Go to start it fires off.
Sounds pretty good rough since it’s a 1st base tune.
Then just dies. NO fuel psi.
——-
Start checking relays. All looks good. No fuel PSI.
Jump the relay and pump pressures up.
SO PUMPS ARE OK. (I did not install the pumps)
Left came back a few hours later.
Hit the key.
I could hear the pumps pressure up.
It starts right up.
Then just a few minutes of running. It dies.
No fuel psi.
Figured I’d jump the relay and hit the key.
Pumps running. No start. Check spark. No spark.
————
Waited several hours
turn the key. Fires up.
Runs for a couple of min. DIES.
No fuel psi no spark.
Get HP out to scan this.
I get this screen shot.
I noticed the door chime sounds weird.
The pace sounds faster then any other truck I have ever worked on.
The dash info center reads.
“Battery no charging”
“reduced power mode”
Ive heard the same from a buddy that’s a master tech, anything aftermarket messes with the security .... and the wife wonders why I don’t put a aftermarket remote start on her truck..... some work but some fail
Here's a post I put on facebook for a member having a similar issue flashing or reading tunes:
Stefan Ch do you have a remote start or alarm that ties into the purple OBD 2 wire? If so, you have to remove that to properly flash. I banged my head against the wall for the longest time before figuring that out. It kept failing and I thought it bricked the ECU. Removed that purple wire and it flashed perfectly. My OBD2 wire goes to a small plug for my DBall2 and I just unplug the plug each time I need to flash or log. Don't actually remove the wire splice, unless that's the only way. If it is, add a male/female disconnect for future use.
If that purple OBD2 wire is connected to anything not OEM, then it could be the culprit. Just trying to help out and give you one more possible solution
