RPM Flux? hptuners logs.....
#1
I have a question.....imagine that right lol.
While logging some runs on hptuners i notice at the higher rpms of second gear i get a rpm flux.
For example it went from 6576-6592-6553-6592-6618-6653 then shifted.
After a few logs i have noticed it does this every time at the top of second gear. Very little in first..so far only caught it once in 5 logs....
But everytime in second it does it. Not always those exact rpms but always drops a bit then comes back up then shifts.
What would cause this?
Also it seems every now and then and by this i mean two out of say 5 runs i got knock right before are right at the 2-3 shift.
Once was high like 5.4 and slowly went away till 111mph where i let out.
Another time was small like 1.4 and went away withing about 3-4mph.
Any ideas?
New to playing with everything and just looking for a litle help.

Oh and i think i need to up my lockup point above 35mph cause i get 8 degrees of knock everytime it locks at that low of a speed. But sometimes i get high knock in the upper 28ish mph area...ideas?
This is of course under very light throttle like 17-20% normally. Dang 3200 stall needs a bit of peddle to move her **** lol.

This might help I saw it on the EFI forum, the thread was about hitting the rev limiter during WOT ****, you might want to check your tranny fuild.
Then again it may have no help whats so ever but worth a shot.

The car's acceleration pulled the fluid away from the pickup just enough to drop pressure so it couldn't shift correctly. The level was just above the bottom of the "hot" zone and yet wasn't enough. It needs to be ABSOLUTELY full or slightly over to prevent problems OR install a deep pan w/ extended pickup.

is the knock just in second or do you get it before the 1-2 shift? Also do you have the converter locking under wot? Pretty sure he has 918's in the x-cab truck if thats the one you are logging. As far as the flux does it just log it in one frame or for a few frames?

Anyway it's only in second gear none in first and it's right at the end of second and doesn't happen every time. But when it does it's a large amount of retard.
The flux is over like 3-4 frames by the way.No my converter does not lock under WOT.
