Default Reduced Engine Power

My buddy is having an issue with REP. It has done it twice on his truck so-far. It is a 2004 silverado 5.3. He bought a Superchips originally for it, and has always had problems with it reading his PCM. I do the tuning on it now, and I too have a tough time getting it to read his PCM. Anyways after a bunch of screwing around I finnally pulled these codes: U1000, U1160, B2961. We werent getting a REP light or SES light and none of the above corressponded with it. Finally after it popped up, I got U0107: lost comm. with throttle actuator.

Whats the deal here?
What is causeing this light and the difficulty opening the PCM?

I think his computer may be bad, he bought the truck used and there has been a problem since he first hooked up his Superchips programmer.

He also has and after market deck and an alarm. I dint really think the guy that installed it was very bright because it seems like his truck has other electrical issues too.

Flipper your the man, wow thats a post. Thank you man. After two hours of saying what the hell . I decided to try pulling the onstar fuses. I dont have onstar equipped on my truck, but I do have all the fuses for it. Well the short of it is. If you have an 04, you have to pull your radio fuse located under the hood. It worked just fine after that. I dont know why the radio alarm system thing kept meesing things up. Hypertech needs to update thier stuff. I guess the 03's didnt have this problem.

Anyways thank you again Flipper, that was an awesome post and really good info.
I did find this.....does this seem applicable in my situation?

If he has got a aftermarket deck in he will need to pull that fuse as well, not sure why a aftermarket deck causes the problem, but I can hook up to 1FUNZ71's with a stock deck with no problem but then I can't connect with a 04 SSS until we pull the onstar and radio fuses.....
