Default Question on a 411 PCM swap

I have been doing some reading on the 99-00 PCM vs the 01-02 pcms. I have a 2000 rcsb with a 5.3 that I will be doing a turbo build on.

I am mainly concerned about the false knock issues people are having with the early pcms and would also like the extra tables that come with the later pcms.

My main question, I was planning on running a 3bar SD operating system through HP Tuners, would I still run into the false knock issues running that OS on the early PCM? Or since I am changing the OS I will get rid of that issue?

Should I swap to the newer PCM and then do the 3bar SD OS?

Hope this question makes sense

Thanks!

Do yourself a favor and swap to the 411 ecm been there done that. I wasted a 200 bucks worth of credits on my 99 ecm with the 2 bar os upgrade. Swap now. It also doesnt cost any more to upgrade to a 3 bar after you purchase the 2 bar.

depending on the OS you can do a write entire to a new OS if you have the means to, this will get you everything of a newer pcm

It's usually not the OS that's the problem. It's hardware related, so swapping to the newer PCM fixes several issues at once.

youre not understanding what i had said. Depending on the OS of the early pcm you maybe able to do a write entire with a newer OS from a 02 truck. This would prevent you from having to buy another pcm

Ok so I guess now the question is what OS would allow me to do that?

And is the never PCM a direct plug and play deal? (Assuming same engine trans config)

And did they change in 01? So any 01-02 would work or just an 02?
