your mid 400hp tune shouldn't be any less important than a 1,000+ build. A good streetable tune is needed for 200hp and 800 hp...your tune was probably a cake walk for them...they just need to spend another 5 minutes on their cake walk.

If they give you hell or dodge you about fixing a drivability issue that could cause damage to your engine get another tuner or it’s time to start learning yourself. You’re the only one who cares the most about your own stuff. Lean backfiring like that could break pistons, valves etc. fix it ASAP.

Where are you located? I have to say the hptuners crowd are some of the nicest and understanding guys I've ever met on a forum. Wouldn't be the worst thing to maybe ask for some help from someone besides your tuner.
