Default parish... mega squirt help please.

ok i need a little help. i installed mega squirt on a car he a little while back and it seems to run ok but when its cold i can't seem to get the accel enrichments right. when you rev the eng while cold if you blip the throttle quickly the eng will bog then rev until it get warmed up. and it has some dead spots in the rpm range when you get on it and the ve table is harder to tune then what everyone makes it out to be it seems. maybe its just this one i dunno but when you make changes on the fly it don't seem to change anything till i make a drastic change. could the fact that we had trouble getting it to understand his wideband. i had to go into the notepad thing and change it to use the unlisted wide band and then tell it what the wide band switch point was. but it still seems not to work right i dunno. any ideas?? thank you.

update he insalled some bigger injectors with the flyback board. i made adjustments for these and the thing fired up easier than ever well it warmed up a little bit and he reved it and it rev really smooth then all the sudden it died and would not start. well as we were trying to start it it was flooding the eng more and more then the last time we tried to start it i think it hydro locked on fuel couse it turned once then the starter froze and we pulled plugs and found one with oil on the out side of it and the two i seen him pull were covered in fuel. so what else do i need to adjust here i'm lost i figured tell the ms what new injector size was and make adjustments for p&h injectors and it would be good so what am i missing?

when i think the motor is flooded i turn off the priming pulse and the cranking pulse. that way the only fuel you get is after it actualy starts running.

if you hydro locked your motor it sounds like you may have fried something on that board and the injectors may be locked open . when going to large P&H injectors those setting for time and current become prety important. try an find out if the injectors are just going open when you turn on the key.

sorry for the slow responce. i didn't see this in here.

yeah when we turn the key on you can here the injectors just pour like crazy then stop. i was thinking about the cranking pulse but was afraid it wouldn't start at all couse its only set to 1.0 ms. so on the % part on the injectors how does that work the lower the less the injector works and less fuel and the higher the opposite or what can i send you the tune to look at whith the specs on the injectors? thanks for any help you can come up with.

the noise you are hearing is probably the fuel pump.

my primeing pulse is set to 0.1ms. set yours to 0 for right now if it will let you.
my cranking pulse width is 2.2ms at 60deg f. set yours to 0 for right now.

pwm current limit is 32% and pwm time threshold is 1ms, what did you have yours set at? if you had the current too high or the time too long you can burn up something on the megasquirt. there are instruction somewhere on how to set these values.

i want you to do a test to see if you messed something up. with the cranking at 0ms and the primeing at 0ms put a fuel presure gauge on the truck and turn on the key without starting the truck. the fuel presure should go up to ~60psi or so and then drop down to 45-55psi after the pump shuts off. if you see the fuel presure drop down to 0psi then you have an injector stuck open from something smoked on the mega.

do that and let me know what you find.

You likely fried the FETs and FET driver for the MS.

It's not too tough to fix. If you want, send it to me and I'll repair it for ya.
