Ok team, after a year and some change of the C5 sitting in my garage looking sad, I finally decided to tear into it
Before even touching the car I bought:
Billet reluctor wheel
Reluctor wheel tool
Lower end gaskets
Tore into the car and swapped a known good crank sensor into the car, started it: same issue. No fuel 1 and 6, no spark 5 and 8. Said "whelp I am prepared for the worst anyway"
18hrs of turning wrenches, shuffling engine stands and getting the bottom open later..... RELUCTOR WHEEL IS BENT
I see differing specs online stating .015-.020 allowable lateral runout. Doesn't matter, I have a total included runout (2 bends opposite directions) of .058"
From what I can see, the wheel is welded to itself, but not to the crank; so popping it off shouldn't be a huge effort
