Default new engine starter wont work

ok so i have been working on this 383/5.3L for serveral months and hit road block after issue. anyway after trying to start the engine for the first time i suffered a small fuel fire. long story short i checked all the wiring replaced the starter and tested it and the neutral position sensor. still the truck wont start. checked the fuses and relays and they are all good. am i missing something? i have no power to the starter when i hit the key.

Did you verify the starter was good and that you have no power at the starter wire???

The small wire is the one you need to test, it will have power only when key is turned to start.
